Italy Loves Food, at BGY Airport the excellence of italian cuisine

A new area set up at Milan Bergamo Airport, dedicated to the excellence of Lombardy and national Italian cuisine. This space, which has been symbolically named “Italy Loves Food”, is set up in the lounge area named 'Ilario Testa' inside the departures terminal.

It is an innovative format within the travel retail industry, particularly in terms of the sale of the take-away products, dining and the promotion of gastronomic culture. Through this, Milan Bergamo Airport is becoming a showcase for exclusive and high-quality speciality dining, represented by prestigious chefs and restaurateurs. This is a calling card that aims to turn passengers in transit into opinion makers, allowing the food and wine to take them on a trip to the cities and regions of Europe served by Milan Bergamo Airport.

It is a dissemination process that is further transforming the mission and function of the airport, which is the third largest in Italy with over 10 million passengers per year.

The “Italy loves food” project was made possible by the airport infrastructure enhancement programme, with the creation of spacious and comfortable areas that are combined with a range of dedicated services and a variety of retail outlets, ensuring a pleasant waiting experience before boarding.

BGY Airport handy to visit The Floating Piers

Milan Bergamo Airport is proposed as a point of entry to enjoy the unique experience of “The Floating Piers” built by Christo, the artist's work that connects the shore of Lake Iseo with Montisola, the largest of the lake's islands d 'Europe, reachable on foot from 18 June to 3 July 2016.

The proximity of the BGY airport with Lake Iseo offers many benefits and opportunities from the logistical point of view for those who come to visit "The Floating Piers".
Thanks to the initiative undertaken by Regione Lombardia, Province of Bergamo Tourism Bergamo, who promoted the "IseoExpress" program, those arriving in Milan Bergamo Airport plane can use the free transfer service with shuttle to the point from which the walkway on the water, in the municipality of Sulzano.

The shuttle bus makes three connections (at 08:00, 12:00 and 16:00) and return three (at 14:00, 18:00 and 22:30). The service is available with reservations required through a simple click, via the website dedicated to the project: www.iseoexpress.it or on www.visitbergamo.net and www.iseolake.info, indicating the number of your airline ticket used on one of the flights arrival in Milan Bergamo Airport. It can also book the shuttle directly at the Info Point Turismo Bergamo, located in the arrivals terminal.

In addition, the flight schedule makes the so-called "round trip" can also daily by carrying out the flight arrival in the early hours of the morning and leave late in the evening the same day. Nuovo volo Wizz Air per Podgorica

Wizz Air ha annunciato l’apertura della rotta tra Milano Bergamo e Podgorica in Montenegro, che sarà attiva dal 20 agosto 2016 e avrà frequenza bisettimanale (martedì e sabato). L’orario operativo prevede la partenza alle 07:45 am da Milano Bergamo e l’arrivo a destinazione alle 9:25 locali, mentre il volo da Podgorica decolla alle 9:55 e arriva a Milano Bergamo alle 11.35.

Con l’apertura del collegamento con Podgorica, Wizz Air rafforza la posizione di secondo vettore operante all’Aeroporto di Milano Bergamo con 18 rotte. In occasione dell’annuncio della nuova rotta, Wizz Air ha lanciato tariffe a partire da 24,99 euro.

Annullo filatelico il 21 marzo

Lunedì 21 marzo SACBO festeggia con uno speciale annullo filatelico il traguardo dei 100 milioni di passeggeri transitati all’Aeroporto di Bergamo dal 1972 ad oggi. La postazione del servizio di annullo filatelico di Poste Italiane sarà allestita presso i banchi check-in dell’area gruppi, accessibile a tutti, dalle 7:30 del mattino alle 20:30.

Bmi Regional launches new Milan Bergamo – Munich route

The airline will operate the new flight on 31 March,  in partnership with Lufthansa as a code-share partner with joint BM and LH flight numbers.  The flights, which are available to book now, will operate seven days a week with twice daily departures from Monday to Friday.  The flight schedule has been tailored to ensure seamless travel connections for business and leisure travellers via Lufthansa’s worldwide Munich network of more than 200 destinations.

Passengers flying on bmi regional from BGY Airport will all enjoy the Fast Track channel trough security, for a quick and rapid access to the airside airport facilities
