BLUE PANORAMA LAUNCHES NEW FLIGHTS BETWEEN MILAN BERGAMO AND REGGIO CALABRIA

As of the first of April, Blue Panorama flights will begin operating between the airports of Milan Bergamo and Reggio Calabria. The return connections will run on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. From 27 July, the day in which Linate airport - another Blue Panorama departure base for Reggio Calabria - will close for important restyling works, the number of flights to and from Milan Bergamo will increase, in order to offer passengers a daily service until 8 September 2019. The new services will be carried out with a Boeing 737-800 Next Generation with 189 seats.

From 9 September and until the re-opening of Linate, together with the return of commercial traffic, weekly flights will increase to 11 a week.

SACBO BOARD OF DIRECTORS APPROVES FINANCIAL STATEMENTS FOR 2018

The Group has confirmed the positive trend which has characterised the last two decades, with annual revenue reaching an all-time high and net profits just over 23 million Euros. A result which has been accompanied by significant investments which in 2018 reached a total of 31.5 million Euros. Over the last 5 financial years, the Group has invested over 170 million Euros. The activities carried out by SACBO have generated a revenue of 162.71 million, an increase of 24.27 million on the previous year (+17.5%) which closed with a revenue of 138.44 million. In examining the 2018 financial statements, the president of SACBO, Roberto Bruni, underlined the importance that the figures have in light of guaranteeing on the one hand the resources necessary to support the investments programmed for the adapting of the airport and service infrastructure, confirming the previously-assumed commitment to interventions for environmental mitigation, and on the other the distribution to the shareholders of the same dividend as last financial year. The continued production of profit - added Bruni - is to be considered the result of prudent management, which is seeing the expected benefits of the various airport services which have been planned to best respond to user requirements.

NUOVO COLLEGAMENTO TRA MILANO BERGAMO E LONDRA GATWICK OPERATO DA BRITISH AIRWAYS

British Airways ha annunciato l’apertura del collegamento tra Milano Bergamo e Londra Gatwick, attivo dal 1° settembre 2019 e operato tutti i giorni, eccetto il sabato, con un Airbus 320 da 177 posti. La vendita dei biglietti per volare sulla nuova rotta, a partire da oggi 21 marzo 2019, segna l’ingresso ufficiale di British Airways nel network dell’aeroporto di Milano Bergamo, che incrementa le possibilità di raggiungere Londra offrendo con lo scalo a Gatwick un ulteriore ventaglio di destinazioni internazionali e intercontinentali. L’annuncio ufficiale del nuovo volo per Londra Gatwick viene commentato da Giacomo Cattaneo, direttore aviation di SACBO, società di gestione dell’Aeroporto di Milano Bergamo: “Salutiamo con grande soddisfazione l’arrivo di British Airways all’Aeroporto di Milano Bergamo a partire dagli inizi del mese di settembre 2019. La presenza della maggiore compagnia aerea del Regno Unito è motivo di prestigio e assegna al nostro aeroporto un ruolo ancora più rilevante nel panorama del trasporto aereo. L’apertura del collegamento con l’aeroporto di Londra Gatwick consente di creare una direttrice di significativa importanza logistica con la vasta e importante area a sud della capitale, offrendo comode opportunità di volo ai passeggeri diretti nel Regno Unito, soprattutto nell’ampia fetta di popolazione concentrata a est di Milano, e ai residenti nella catchment area del secondo scalo britannico, distante soli 45 km da Londra e ottimamente servito per i trasferimenti via terra. Altro vantaggio deriva da orari e frequenze dei voli, opportunamente studiati per rispondere alle diverse esigenze dei viaggiatori”.
