LAST BAE 146-100 FLIGHT AT MILAN BERGAMO

Milan Bergamo Airport has celebrated the last flight of the BAe-146-100 aircraft, which is owned by F1 Management and used for travel by the organising staff of the Formula One Grand Prix held in Europe. The aircraft, which is distinguished by the initials G-OFOM and was the last one in service out of the 33 produced by British Aerospace, began operations on 27 February 1990 and is retiring after more than 32 years in service. Flight FO 1463B, bound for London Biggin Hill airport, took off at 12:45 with 20 passengers on board. As it departed, the aircraft was sent off by a water arch from the Orio al Serio Fire Department. The BAe 146 100 series, a regional airliner also known as the “Jumbolino”, equipped with 3171 kg thrust Honeywell ALF 502R-5 turbofan engines that guarantee a range of just over 2,000 km, has some special features, such as an openable airbrake located in the tail cone, in the absence of devices for reversing the thrust of the engines. Since 2019, this aircraft has been stopping off at Milan Bergamo airport during the Italian F1 Grand Prix in Monza, using the sister handling service of Signature Flight Support Italy and BGY International Services of the SACBO group.

SACBO GROUP CONFIRMS ITS 3rd LEVEL AIRPORT CARBON ACCREDITATION

After a timely verification of the requirements, ACI Europe has confirmed again for 2022 the SACBO Group’s third-level certification (so-called "Optimization") of the Airport Carbon Accreditation. In addition to certifying the continuous reduction of the carbon footprint produced by aeronautical activities and services carried out in the airport, this third-level certification is a testimony of considerable importance in terms of the commitment and actions developed to achieve the reduction objective for CO2 emissions. Also involved in the emission reduction plan are third parties and the stakeholders of the SACBO Group, through actions and initiatives which aimed at their participation and at raising awareness and sharing the objective underlying the plan. The increase to the third level of the Airport Carbon Accreditation was obtained in 2020, when the SACBO Group continued its commitment to environmental sustainability while operating during the health emergency caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
