LOAD FACTOR IS GROWING OVER THE EASTER WEEK AT MILAN BERGAMO AIRPORT

After having closed the month of March 2023 with 1,212,721 passengers overall, representing an increase of 18.9% over March 2019, Milan Bergamo Airport has begun to manage traffic for the Easter week, which, not counting the daily programming of scheduled flights in line with the weekly Summer 2023 calendar in force since Sunday 26 March, is seeing growing levels in load factor with regards to both last year and the pre-pandemic period. Forecasts for the week from Wednesday 5 to Tuesday 11 April predict more than 320 thousand passengers either departing or arriving. Compared to the 2019 Easter period, this marks a 15% increase, bearing in mind that four years ago, Easter 2019 fell on Sunday 21 April, and therefore right before the celebrations for 25 April (Italian Liberation Day), with just under 280 thousand passengers. For the 2023 Easter week, 138 of the 142 destinations in the summer schedule are available, with flights connecting 39 countries. Ryanair, with its most extensive summer schedule ever at Milan Bergamo Airport, is offering 108 routes. Two new routes for this year are to the United Arab Emirates, with Flydubai operating flights to and from Dubai International Airport (T3, from where ongoing Emirates flights also depart), and with Air Arabia flying to and from the airport of Sharjah.

SACBO BOARD OF DIRECTORS APPROVES FINANCIAL STATEMENTS FOR 2022

The Board of Directors of SACBO has approved the financial statements and the consolidated group statements 2022 which include the financial statements for SACBO S.p.A. and those of the fully-owned company BGY International Services S.r.l. This marks the end of a financial year that is still partially affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, which had a negative effect on airport traffic at the beginning of 2022. The geopolitical and economic situation became increasingly complicated as of March 2022 with the outbreak of war in Ukraine, amplifying a number of criticalities that had already emerged in the second half of 2021, including an increase in energy prices, the emergence of obstacles to the sourcing of a series of raw materials, and the increase in financial market volatility. In this context, in June 2022, Bergamo airport saw the best performance on a European level in terms of punctuality, with the lowest number of delays and cancellations. A situation that is not so common in Europe.
