ALITALIA ADDS A FIFTH FLIGHT BETWEEN MILAN BERGAMO AND ROME FIUMICINO IN OCTOBER

More news for the Alitalia connection between Milan Bergamo and Rome Fiumicino
airports, which has been active since 27 July with four daily round trips.
Having confirmed that the connection would continue in both the 2019-2020 winter schedule, effective from 27 October, and the 2020 summer schedule, from 29 March, Alitalia has introduced the fifth daily flight on this route, which will be offered from 1 to 26 October 2019.
This decision was made on the basis of the success and increase in demand from passengers, many of them in transit from Fiumicino on intercontinental flights, and in view of the resumption of business trips in the autumn.
The additional flight will arrive from Rome Fiumicino at 17.15 and depart from Milan
Bergamo at 18.00. The other departure times from Milan Bergamo (6:45 – 11:15 – 14:50 – 19:05) and Rome Fiumicino (9:20 – 13:00 – 16:00 – 21:40) are confirmed.

RYANAIR LAUNCHES NEW MILAN BERGAMO - TBILISI, GEORGIA ROUTE

Today (21 August), Ryanair, the No.1 company in Italy and Europe, announced a new route that will link Milan Bergamo to Tbilisi, Georgia, with 4 flights per week from November 2019, as part of the winter 2019 scheduling from Milan Bergamo.
Ryanair will cover 80 routes in total from Milan Bergamo during winter 2019, 10 of which are new winter destinations:
Agadir (twice-weekly), Bremen (twice-weekly), Gothenburg (twice-weekly), Katowice (twice-weekly), Lappeenranta (twice-weekly), London Southend (3 flights per week), Marseilles (4 flights per week), Santander (twice-weekly), Sofia (daily) and, of course, Tbilisi (4 flights per week), which will see over 11.1 million passengers pass through the Milan Bergamo airport this year.
To celebrate this new route from Milan Bergamo, Ryanair has launched a special offer on its European network starting at just 9.99 euros for travel in November and December, valid for bookings made before midnight on Friday (23 August) only on the Ryanair website.

ALITALIA CONFIRMS FLIGHT SCHEDULE BETWEEN MILAN BERGAMO AND ROME FIUMICINO AIRPORTS

Alitalia’s return to operation in Milan Bergamo Airport, with the scheduled connection with
Fiumicino, continues to see a high load factor on all four daily return flights, which have been active since 27 July. This is a positive trend that, based on bookings, is predicted to continue in the upcoming months during Milan Linate’s closure due to works.
Faced with this success and the increase in demand from passengers, of whom many are
on intercontinental flights in transit from Fiumicino, Alitalia has decided to confirm the route
between Milan Bergamo and Rome Fiumicino with three daily return flights, including in the 2019-2020 winter schedule, starting from 27 October, and in the 2020 summer schedule as of 29 March.

PERSONALE OPERATIVO BIS DEL GRUPPO SACBO E' PLASTIC FREE

BGY International Services, la società di handling del Gruppo SACBO, ha messo in atto un programma radicale di adesione all’obiettivo “plastic free” nelle aree operative airside che coinvolge interamente il personale composto da agenti di rampa, addetti ai mezzi e alle operazioni di piazzale e assistenza agli aeromobili.
Il processo di eliminazione delle bottiglie di plastica, iniziato lo scorso anno con l’installazione di due erogatori d’acqua (a temperatura ambiente e refrigerata) nelle due salette break airside a disposizione del personale, è stato implementato con la distribuzione di 200 borracce in alluminio in dotazione a ciascuno dei dipendenti BIS.
BIS prevede di incrementare ulteriormente i punti di erogazione di acqua nelle aree operative e nei propri uffici per permettere a tutti gli oltre 300 dipendenti di optare per questa scelta di sostenibilità.

MILAN BERGAMO AIRPORT SEES THE ACTIVATION OF THE FIRST 6 E-GATES

Milan Bergamo Airport has opened the first six e-gates, the passenger passport and identification electronic control gates positioned in the non-Schengen arrivals area and aimed at facilitating the flow of incoming passengers.

The e-gates provide an automated border control system for passengers with electronic passports and citizenship in one of the countries of the European Union, European Economic Area or Switzerland, and who are of more than 14 years of age. On disembarking and arriving in the non-Schengen arrivals area, passengers go to one of the six gates and position their passport on the dedicated reader, which checks their biometric data. Following the initial control, which takes just a few seconds, they are granted access through the turnstiles for a check of their facial data before being allowed to enter the Schengen area. A fast and secure procedure that reduces waiting times to a minimum and facilitates the processing of arriving passengers.
