THE WINTER FLIGHT SCHEDULE BRINGS NEW ROUTES TO MILAN BERGAMO AIRPORT

The winter schedule, which comes into effect on Sunday 31 October 2021, will provide Milan Bergamo Airport with the widest ranging network of routes ever, with a total of 114 destinations in 39 countries. It is an offer that reflects the optimism demonstrated by the airlines, 16 of which will be operating scheduled flights from Milan Bergamo Airport during the winter season, that the recovery of air traffic currently being witnessed at the airport - with more than 70% of 2019 traffic reached so far - will continue.

A contribution to further recovery will be provided by the opening of the first 8 new routes at the beginning of the winter season. The first four will take off on Sunday 31 October, with Ryanair inaugurating flights to Düsseldorf Weeze, Helsinki and Birmingham, and easyJet opening the route to and from London Gatwick, an important hub connecting both the City and other destinations in the UK, as well as the London airport’s international network.

On 1 November, Ryanair will be introducing another two routes: Liverpool, which has always been one of the most popular destinations in the United Kingdom, and Toulouse, the Capital of the Occitane region of France and known as the Pink City for the dominant colour of the period buildings, as well as for being the home of important industrial organisations.

As well as the Ryanair flight to Stockholm Arlanda, 2 November will also see the inaugural flight for the route connecting to Paris Orly airport and operated by Vueling, further bolstering availability for the French capital offered by Milan Bergamo Airport alongside routes operated by easyJet for Paris Charles de Gaulle and Ryanair for Paris Beauvais.

Another new feature of the winter season from Milan Bergamo Airport is the arrival of Eurowings, which from 4 November will be providing connections to the main airport of Düsseldorf, the hub of the Lufthansa group to which the airline belongs. One of the main destinations in the economic and financial world, Düsseldorf has also been re-discovered as a city-break destination.

The next important date is 3 December, with the opening of Ryanair flights to Banja Luka, the welcoming monumental city in Bosnia Herzegovina situated 159 km from Sarajevo.

5 January 2022 will see the debut at Milan Bergamo Airport of the new Norwegian airline Flyr, which will be operating the route connecting to Oslo-Gardermoen airport.
