MILAN BERGAMO AIRPORT RECEIVES THE REMAINS OF SAINT BERNADETTE OF LOURDES

The remains, contained in a special chest provided by the specialist airline to allow the protected transportation from the Sanctuary of Lourdes to the places of worship, were received on the morning of Wednesday 24 April in the presence of the management of SACBO and the airport authorities, as well as the general secretary of the diocesan curia of Bergamo, Monsignor Giulio Dellavite, and the parish priest of Orio al Serio, don Massimo Gualdi. The remains of Saint Bernadette were accompanied by father Nicola Ventriglia, the Italian chaplain of the Sanctuary of Lourdes.

The chest containing the remains then continued to the city of Alessandria, the first stage in the pilgrimage which will visit 34 dioceses from the north to the south of Italy and which will last until 22 August 2019.
