Bike Friendly Company

In September 2021 SACBO achieved CFE - Cycle-Friendly Employer certification.

CFE Certification is based on a European-level framework defined by the European Cyclists’ Federation and is aimed at supporting companies in the continuous improvement of conditions for employees that travel to work by bicycle and who use bicycles as a means of transportation during their working activities. The issuing of the certificate, which in Italy is governed by FIAB, the Italian Federation for the Environment and Cycling, takes place following the assessment of determined requirements, which are grouped in thematic categories on the basis of which points are assigned. These criteria obviously need to be maintained over time, even after the issuing of the certificate, and if possible improved upon.

The receiving of this certification is a source of pride for SACBO S.p.A., the first company in Italy and the first airport management company in Europe to achieve this goal.

The increase in the use of bicycles as a means of transportation between home and work, and as a vehicle for work purposes, will have positive repercussions not only on the physical and psychological conditions of bicycle users, but also in terms of a reduction in emissions from motor vehicles, in line with the goals regarding sustainability and the reduction of impacts set out in the 2030 Agenda for sustainable development approved by the General Assembly of the UN.
